Spectroscopy LIMS for raw material ID and content

FTIR, Raman, NIR, UV-Vis, and XRPD workflows with spectral library matching, chemometric model control, and identification at receipt.

THE PROBLEM

Where legacy LIMS break down

Spectroscopy is fast at the instrument and slow in the record. A handheld Raman confirms a raw material in seconds, then the result gets written on a label, logged in a book, and eventually keyed into the LIMS by someone else.

Chemometric methods carry their own risk. An NIR content model has versions, validation status, and a scope of applicability, and if the LIMS does not know which model version produced a result, the result is not defensible.

Labbit captures spectral results at the point of measurement, records library match scores and model version with every identification, and enforces that only validated model versions produce release results. Through-container ID at receipt becomes a scan, not a form.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Labbit support handheld Raman for raw material ID?

+
-

Yes. Agilent Vaya and similar handheld systems integrate for through-container identification, with match scores captured per container.

How does Labbit control NIR chemometric models?

+
-

Models are versioned entities with validation status. Results record the model version used, and only validated versions can produce release results.

Which spectroscopy instruments are integrated?

+
-

Thermo Nicolet FTIR, Bruker ALPHA and MPA, Thermo Antaris NIR, Agilent Cary UV-Vis, and XRPD systems from Malvern Panalytical and Bruker.

Is polymorph screening by XRPD supported?

+
-

Yes. XRPD workflows compare diffractograms against reference patterns for solid-state form confirmation.
