Integrations

Connect Labbit to the instruments and software your lab already runs, so results reach the record
with their source and context instead of being retyped.

THE PROBLEM

Every manual transfer is a data integrity risk

In most labs, results reach the system of record by hand. Values are copied from instrument software, pasted into spreadsheets, and keyed in again, and every one of those steps is a place for an error to enter and a gap in the audit trail.

The software side is no simpler. Labs run separate systems for orders, inventory, ERP, MES, and quality, and parts of a single workflow often live in each. Every disconnected step is another place where data drifts out of sync.

CAPABILITIES

Your whole workflow, connected

Instrument integration

Connect instruments by API or by file so results reach the record without transcription. Instruments can call Labbit directly to record data and complete a task, and Labbit can generate the files an instrument needs to run.

Software and enterprise systems

Labbit's documented REST APIs for workbooks, entities, and functions let adjacent systems such as ERP, MES, QMS, and ordering tools read from and write to Labbit programmatically.

File-based exchange

Parse instrument and system result files into the record, and deliver files to the locations other systems pick them up from, using Labbit's file parsing and file delivery functions.

Configured to your workflow

Integrations are configured as part of your workflows, so steps that happen outside Labbit connect to the samples and tasks they belong to. Because they're built from configuration, Labbit can support a wide range of instruments and systems rather than a fixed list of connectors.

HOW IT WORKS

How integrations work in Labbit

01

Scope

During implementation, we map which instruments and systems touch each workflow and how data should move between them.

02

Configure

Integrations are built with Labbit's APIs, functions, and file exchange, and tied to the workflow tasks they support.

03

Capture on the record

Incoming data lands on the samples and workbooks it belongs to and is committed with the same attributed revision history as data entered by hand.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which instruments does Labbit integrate with?

+
-

Labbit connects to instruments through API or file-based integrations configured during implementation, including sequencers, liquid handlers, and other bench instruments that produce run or result files.

Does Labbit have an API?

+
-

Yes. Labbit provides REST APIs for working with workbooks, entities, and functions, with built-in reference documentation for each.

Can Labbit integrate with ERP, MES, or QMS systems?

+
-

Yes. Labbit connects to enterprise systems through its APIs and file exchange. Each integration is scoped and configured during implementation to fit your workflow, rather than delivered as a fixed connector.

Is HL7 supported for clinical labs?

+
-

Yes. Labbit includes an HL7 message handler that can be configured to exchange clinical messages with other systems.

Do integrations preserve the audit trail?

+
-

Yes. Data that arrives through an integration is committed like any other change: as a new, attributed, time-stamped revision, with the prior revision preserved.
